The group, besides studying the general and abstract principle, aims to apply the scientific principle to practical problem solving of some issues relative to industrial plants, particularly: maintenance, before and after sale assistance, recycling, e-commerce.
With MURST and CNR funds the group examined the economical, managerial and organizational aspects of industrial plants maintenance (organization, technologies, information technology, documentation, education).
With CNR (Finalized Project Internationalization) and ICE funds, it studied before and after sale assistance in the industrial plants export. First, the group identified the gap between supply and demand of auxiliary services offered by foreign and Italian manufacturers. Then, it put forward some proposals implemented with 12 Master courses funded by MINCOMES for young technical graduates operating in developing countries.
The group analyzed, with six European and Chinese research centers, the recycling of durable consumer goods, especially car recycling, and proposed some actions to transfer, particularly to China, the European environmental protection know-how. The proposals are inserted in the scientific and technological cooperation agreement Italy - China.
The group studies opportunities and limits of e-commerce too, with reference to industrial plants, in a context of both niche and global market.
